As expected the new Mercedes-Benz Vito is based on the floor of the polymorphic V-Class, from which it received design influences in the external appearance, while it also receives many of the electronic security systems. The official presentation will take place in September at the international exhibition in Hanover commercial vehicle, while the disposal of the various European markets will begin in late November.

The car will be offered with three different external lengths, 4.895 mm., 5.140 mm. and 5.730 mm., two wheelbases and four lengths utilitarian versions, the Panel Van, Mixto, Crew and Tourer.

The Panel Van is a purely professional version, Mixto has mixed passenger elements and commercial versions, while the Crew and Tourer have as a main objective the transfer of staff. Also, as with the Ford Transit, it will be available with front, rear or all four wheel drive.

The versatile all 4 cylinder, diesel engine of 2,143 cc, output 136, 163 or 190 horsepower, just like the V-Class. The 2.1 liter engine can be combined with a manual gearbox that has six relations or with the automatic transmission 7G-TRONIC with seven relations. The new part of this model is the basic front wheel drive version which uses the 1.6 liter diesel engine rated at 115 hp.

The equipment of the new Vito is more comprehensive than the previous generation and features the basic version of ESP, up to eight airbags, Attention Assist, Crosswind Assist and tire pressure monitoring system.
