The Roomster can brag for being one of the few cars that combine modular charms in a small body with great potential. You can’t rank it in the station wagon category, nor the polymorphic, but combining the two worlds with so much success with its own distinctive style. This new category of supermini origin, but with generous space standards, is ideal for commuting, the excursion trips or even for the needs of a professional who wants a classic small station or van. The main changes of the new generation are located in the grille, lights, bumpers, while the two tone and off road features shields with the same hue of the bumpers that surround and embrace the body of the Rooster, which is the hallmark Scout. It may not provide an essential tool for off road moments, but at least it is dressed with the proper gear for adventure driving that will surely not injure the body on vacation and emphasizes to the unique style.
The main feature is the performance of the 1.2 TSI engine, that ensures what the Roomster struggled to express previously. Virtually eliminates the 1.6 of 105 hp and is available in two versions, 86 and 105 hp, which is mainly due to mapping. The Roomster reaches 0-100 km/hr in 10.9” and develops a top speed of 184 km/hr and burns just 5,3 lt/100km in mixed use. In practice confirms the performance, full performance and durability and moves really fast and enjoyable even when loaded. The sparse escalating speed, coupled with full torque offered by the supercharger helps to combine and be part of the performance, quiet trip and consumption, although the latter wandering the 8 lt/100 km. Apart from all that, it remains an economical car according to performance ratio.
The behavior is similar in character, being friendly and predictable with relatively tight suspension tuning, without burdening comfort. Although it does not promote sports driving, it shows a good grip and high traction on demanding trails, the communicative steering and the overall package suspension frame to provoke exaggerations. On the open road it appears stable and does not get affected by side winds, with aerodynamic noises to spend while in the cabin, you wont be bothered. Overall i would say that the Roomster maintains a pleasant and communicative behavior and is characterized by proper control and quality operation of the suspension.
The interior has tied an extensive upgrade that although it does not alter the basic design it improves on the point. Multifunction steering wheel, new sound system and air conditioning system with ergonomic enhancements and extra features, and gear shift indicator in the instrument panel are some of the essential benefits. Of course the comfort and security equipment offers every modern requirement such as Hill Hold Control, full set of airbags, while the Roomster has a panoramic glass roof and a VarioFlex system that surprises with the variability of the interior. In conjunction with the refreshed decor and quality of air renewal, you will enjoy your stay in the cabin either you are a passenger or the driver.
