A variation of the famous racing cars will be presented at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance next weekend. The car weighs just 1,200 kg and is powered by the modified 3.8 litre twin–turbo V8 engine.
If BMW will lead to the development of the Pebble Beach Zagato Concept, news also comes from McLaren MP4-12C which is the Can-Am racing Edition concept. This is a variant of the famous cars, dedicated to the competition, even if it is not ruling out a mass production for the North American sports car customers. The debut is scheduled for this weekend at the famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in U.S.
The MP4-12C Cam-Am Edition is lighter, thanks to the use of carbon fiber and aluminum, it brings the total weight of only 1,200 kg dry, which increases the performance and decreases the power consumption. This car is powered by a modified 3.8 litre twin–turbo V8 engine, with the power increased to 630 horsepower and the aerodynamics has been studied on the basis of the Formula 1 car.
There is another element coming from the English single-seater, it is the steering wheel is derived in the form of the wheel of Lewis Hamilton currently fourth in the World, the one who won recently in Hungary. The braking system of this super sports car is made by Akebono, while there is a bit of Italy with the slick (racing) tires supplied by Pirelli
