In the difficult European market, the revamped Linea adds to the range of Fiat a proposal for an affordable family car, the traditional figure of the sedan body. The quiver puts, other than available spaces, the famous 1.3 liter Multijet diesel engine, which works well for low fuel consumption and follows the spirit of the age, to entice a conscious householder. The Linea first appeared in the market in 2007 when it was launched as the sedan version of the Grande Punto. Today, redesigned but following the same logic as then, fills a gap in the range of Fiat. In outward appearance, the air renewal bring the redesigned front and rear bumpers along with new chrome front grille and a few more aesthetic additions, such as new round fog lamps. Changes care and achieve the outdoor freshness of the Linea.
The interior follows the aesthetics of the fully updated Punto. The plastic is hard in most places, but in general the build quality and fit is satisfactory. Featuring all the modern equipment items, the Linea is ready to host with comfort and safe in the living room of four adult passengers, who will only seek a little more space for their heads. Highlighted is the large capacity of 500 liters, which has regular shape and narrow opening.
The small Multijet engine of Fiat, finds shelter under the hood of the four door Fiat Linea. With 95 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque, the modern four cylinder engine serves largely the traffic needs of Linea. The performance announced by Fiat for the above combination is 0-100 km/hr in 13,8 sec and has a final speed of 170 km/hr. In practice, the engine torque drives with vigor the Linea making comfortable the every day move. The presence of noise inside the motor is not negligible and maybe an extra 6th gear would improve even more the quiet and economical travel. The box meets operational and has proper scaling, exploiting the torque curve MultiJet. The main advantage of the low consumption is maintained in each case fully, since the Linea can move in mixed traffic at an average rate of consumption of close to 6,0 lt/100 km.
Good impressions are also made from the driving position of Linea, which offers ideal flexibility for its size, with good visibility in all directions and a small turning circle. From the first mile with it, the messages you get from posting faithfully follow the terms of comfort and loose movement. The body roll in bends is felt, while at large transverse potholes sounds and operated. The steering feel is right for the measures of its class, without predisposing you to upload, rate, and the lack of ESP cuts points from the safety equipment. If pressured, however, the regression is the main feature of the behavior of Linea, without deplorable incident or unpleasant surprises.
