The German high-performance electric car will be equipped with a special mirror, equipped with a 7.7 inch monitor and a high definition camera.
They will continue to give us some interesting news from Audi upon new accessories for the cars with the four rings. After debuting in the 24 hours course of Le Mans on the R18, the mirror will also be available digitally for production cars: in particular it will be produced in the Audi R8 e-tron. The electric high performance car will come by the end of 2012, with this new accessory.
The R8 and-tron does not have a real rear window and the particular rear-view mirror that Audi added enables the driver perfect visibility, thus increasing the security. Through a high-definition camera and a control unit, the images will be projected on a screen of 7.7 inches, in the position of the classic rear-view mirror. The driver can choose to enable or disable the screen at all times.
The electric Audi car can be driven by two electric motors, which generate an output of 280 kW and 820 Nm of torque, reaching a top speed of 200 km / h (electronically limited) and accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.6 seconds. The lithium-ion batteries allow you to store 49 kWh of energy, enough to cover a distance of 215 miles on a full charge.
