The year 2012 ended in a very negative way for the Italian car market, but there are cars that still had a great success over the past year. The best-selling car was the Fiat Panda: The city car of Turin was the only one to exceed 100,000 registrations, reaching the figure of 117,759 units sold between January the 1st and December the 31st , 2012.
All of our country, the other two places on the podium are: the silver medal goes to the Fiat Punto (79,685 registrations), while the third is for the Lancia Ypsilon (44,417). The first foreign car in this ranking is the Ford Fiesta, in fifth place with 42,043 models sold. Petrol cars are still by far the most popular, the most requested diesel car is the Volkswagen Golf, which stops at 28,158 copies.
Moving on to the car, only two manufacturers have closed on a positive 2012. If Hyundai and Dacia were maintained at the levels of 2011, Land Rover (+38.35%) and Kia (+39.01%) can definitely smile. Very heavy losses for the Fiat Group (-19.42%) and all other brands, where stand the Maserati -72% of the 55% -52% of Daihatsu and Mitsubishi.
