The new Kia Soul EV is an electric vehicle with high capacity lithium ion battery 27 KWh and 200 Wh/Kg energy. The power produced by an electric power 81,4 KW, torque 285 Nm. The Soul EV has front wheel drive and autonomy of 200 km with a single charge. To maximize performance, added a number of energy-saving technologies, heating and ventilation/air conditioning including the world’s first individual air conditioning system driver only, braking system with four modes and a heating system with battery. The Soul EV will be sold in Europe in the second half of 2014, with the famous 7 year company warranty.

The research and development of Kia will unveil a new hybrid system that will be used in future models of the brand. It consists of a lead battery 48V connected to a small electric motor, increasing the output power of the engine. The same battery supplies power an electric turbocharger, which in turn increases the torque and power at low revs. At low speeds or constant speed, the car will be driven on electric power, while the slow charging the battery. The system also functions as a start-stop when the vehicle is stationary with zero noise or vibration. Big advantage of this new technology to reduce the size and weight of the batteries.
