The new Mercedes C-Class will be more luxurious and more equipped than ever, with increased dimensions and will bring, among other things, a new 1.600 oil engine. The new C-Class was presented online and will officially debut at the Detroit show in January. More specifically, the new sedan model of the German brand is more aggressive design reminiscent of older models of the company, while the equipment is more than luxurious, adopting advanced technology features new S-Class.
As for the design, the front mask will be bigger, compared to the previous model and the new luminaires with integrated LED daytime running for a more dynamic picture of the German sedan. In addition, a new platform of Mercedes, the MRA, which gives it less weight compared with the previous generation and certainly less fuel consumption. As for dimensions, the new C-Class is 95 mm farther from the 3rd generation and 40 mm more wide, while the wheelbase grew by 80 mm, offering more space for rear passengers.
The interior has upgraded construction materials, the leather upholstery and screen 7 or 8.4 inch, along with a touch pad mounted in the center console. In addition, we have a system head up display. There will be a new smart air conditioning, which uses GPS to detect when the car passed through the tunnel and automatically close the vents in order to prohibit the influx of harmful gases inside. Optionally, it is equipped with the Airmatic suspension, which allows the driver to choose between four different settings, such as Comfort, ECO, Sport and Sport Plus, and while it can be adjusted automatically with the road, which moves the vehicle.
Regarding the components initially will be available with the new 2 liter turbo petrol engine of 184 and 211 hp. They will also be available and the 1,6 turbo petrol with 156 hp and 250 Nm of torque, while later added to the range and a new 1.6 liter diesel motor with 115 and 280 Nm of torque and 136 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. In addition, Mercedes will launch later and a hybrid version with an average fuel consumption of just 3.9 km lt/100. All motors will be paired with a 6 speed manual or optionally 7 speed automatic gearbox, which will carry the rear wheel.
