The French company will propose to the next motor show in the transalpine capital, the high-end models of the car in the segment B. They have a new look, an engine of 1.6 from 92 to 200 hp.
Last February, the new Peugeot 208arrived in Italy; now the French company has the high-end car models of the B-segment: the new XY 208 and 208 GTi will be officially shown at the upcoming Paris Motor Show 2012 (September 29-October 14 ). “With 208 XY, Peugeot opens a new page in its history – said Laurent Blanchet, Director of the range of the French company – With 208 GTi, recreates an icon.”
The line of these two cars is characterized by a wide track of 10 mm at the front and 20 mm at the rear, underlined by elements of the body flush with the wheels, while the lower part shows the flared fenders. The front is recognizable by the new halogen headlights with LED technology for the turn signals and daytime running lights and the new radiator grille with chrome trim, which is slightly enlarged.
The French have also paid attention in the cockpit with materials and finishes of the first level, like the steering wheel in leather or the instrument cluster with a signature innovation. As for the engines: the 208 XY is driven by a series of 1.6-liter engines ranging from 92 to 155 horsepower, coupled to a five-speed manual transmission. The GTi, however, mounts the 1.6 16v THP 200 hp for acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 7 seconds.
