The new compact SUV has completed all the phases of design and production and will hit the market by the end of 2012. The frame was designed in Germany and it will be equipped with the all-wheel drive.
Opel Mokka is ready to come to the European market. The new compact SUV, in fact, has completed and passed the assessment test after conducted in Germany by German and European engineers and it will be provided to the ”dealers” by the end of 2012.
Design, performance, quality and technology – said Ulrich Schmalohr, the Global Vehicle Line Executive – are in line the words with the high standards that customers expect now from Opel.”
The house in Rüsselsheim has revealed new information about this waiting vehicle, which was presented at the last Geneva Motor Show. The chassis was designed in Germany, to meet the needs of the European customers and to ensure a maximum performance in terms of dynamic handling, even on a road surface that is not perfect. In particular, there have been added compensation springs of side loads on the front suspension, while on the rear axle there was added a torsion bar with the tubular section to U.
Additionally, Opel Mokka can be equipped with an all-wheel drive to improve the grips and the handling. According to traction and driving conditions, the torque is transferred automatically and seamlessly from the front to the back, ensuring a system that automatically adjusts to road conditions. The AWD weighs 65 kg, which only affect slightly the fuel consumption and the emissions.
