The third generation of the Nissan Murano will come in late 2014 to continue the long history of the Japanese in the medium crossovers and parallel to enhance the new design philosophy but also the rebirth of Nissan. Before eleven years, the first generation Murano had a particular impact on the European market, while the second generation of 2009 remained a Crossover milestone for the company despite the arrival of Juke bold and the upgrade of Pathfinder. Now, the Murano is the next step after the new Qashqai.
The new design based on the philosophy of manufacturing is reflected in the new Nissan Murano with a V shaped snout, lights with LED lamps, strong ribbed body and the emphasis on aerodynamic efficiency. A very special part of the design of the new Murano is that they added a fourth column and the overall adjustment of the edge of the roof, a rear diffuser and rear lighting fixtures in a final futuristic design. The dimensions of the third generation are similar to the previous one, with small increases in the length and width and a reduction in the amount so as to achieve the balance between aerodynamic efficiency and off road capabilities.
As a result of staying in the wind tunnel three times more compared to the normal for the development of a car, the aerodynamic efficiency has been improved by 16% and the drag coefficient is reduced to Cd 0.31. The interior designers of Nissan emphasized to the visibility, reducing the height of the dashboard, but also in functionality. At the center console is placed a touchscreen of 8 inches, while wanting to keep things simple, they lowered the audio and navigation switches from 25 to 10. Moreover, increased is the size of the roof by 40% and now the opening is 29% larger, and physical placement bases for smartphones and USB ports. Finally, also increased is the size of the luggage space and improved the spatial features folding seats.
As for the mechanical parts, during the presentation of the new Murano, it is equipped with a V6 3.5 liter engine of 260 hp performance, with a Xtronic gearbox. The setting of the box and the weight reduction of almost 60 pounds allowed the reduction of fuel consumption and emissions by approximately 20%. The buyer can choose between the two or four wheel drive version. The new Murano, finally, is equipped with four cameras that are used by a variety of online technologies to impact prevention and driver assistance.
