The most popular Opel raises the bar on framework performance, engines and transmissions. New, upgraded and efficient 3 cylinder, turbocharged engines of 1000 cc, gearboxes with smooth changes, a new suspension and optimized steering provide high levels of comfort and precision. The Corsa also comes with a new cabin which exudes a sense of high quality, spaciousness and advanced infotainment IntelliLink system and sophisticated driver assistance systems. The designers have given the Opel Corsa a dynamic shape following the design philosophy of the brand with elegant, sculpted forms and accurate details in order to have all the qualifications to continue the success of 32 years in a very competitive category of the market. The 5th generation Corsa will make its world premiere at the «Mondial de l’Automobile 2014» in Paris (4-19 October).
Its exterior design is fresher, more advanced and with respect. The new cabin uses clean, elongated shapes and a mixture of advanced materials. In conjunction with noticeably more comfortable frame, more precise steering, new engines and reduced noise levels, ensures a new, better driving experience. Top priority for the engineering group evolution of Opel was to offer customers a driving experience level of larger, more expensive car with comfort and accuracy. Solid basis for this are the new steering and chassis systems.
Beneath the bonnet of the so called «Corsa E» 5th generation is the new 3 cylinder, 1.0 liter ECOTEC Direct Turbo Injection. This modern, low power unit is the only 3 cylinder, 1.0 liter engine with balance shaft production, thanks to which sets new standards in its class NVH and superior ride comfort. The compact, all aluminum 1.0 ECOTEC Direct Turbo Injection, which already meets the standards of Euro 6, is available in two power versions, 66 kW/90 hp or 85 kW/115 hp. Both are characterized by immediate response and strong torque at low rpm, producing 170 Nm from 1.800 rpm. The new, small displacement 3 cylinder engine is equipped with standard technology Start/Stop.
The ride comfort is improved by the Advanced Park Assist that automatically performs steering maneuvers to park and the Rear View Camera and operation Hill Start Assist. The steering wheel, front seats and now the windshield is heated, creating a pleasant and warm atmosphere in the cabin and good visibility on cold days. The interior features front bucket type seats that stand for quality construction, a large panoramic roof and pleasant interior lighting gives a sense of hospitality and warmth.
Finally, for sports enthusiasts, in the back part of the new Corsa can be incorporated a practical bicycle carrier FlexFix.
