Like every Friday, the appointment with the movie cars. After the Jaguar E-Type of the past week, let’s stay in Britain and talk about Rolls-Royce Phantom II. It is a sedan of the 30s and has been used for many films, the most famous are the James Bond’ James Bond 007 Octopussy, operation octopus (1983) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’ (1989 ).
It was replaced by the Phantom I (also starred in a few films, though less renowned as Gosford Park) and was launched in 1929 and remained in production for six years and in 1935 was replaced by the Phantom III. In the history of this car was produced 1680 copies, of which 278 were the special ‘Continental’, made with a shorter and a tuned engine.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom II was a rear wheel drive car and was powered by a six-cylinder overhead valve, the same as the previous model, with a power of 108 hp at 2,300 rpm. It was mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The series Phantom of the English company has come down to the present day: it is now the seventh generation, with the introduction of the Coupe in 2008.
