Nissan returns to challenge the Golf and other competing European and Oriental brands in the compact segment with the new Pulsar, a model studied in detail in both design and content. The new model will arrive in dealerships throughout Europe in fall and will be on sale starting from € 17,900.

Design: Family Style
There is no denying it, in the front there is an obvious stylistic influence of the various Qasqhai, X-Trail and notes of the last generation. A relationship that hints at the cutting clusters, the V-shaped grille, and sculpted forms of the body. The Pulsar, as the latest models of Nissan House, presents a rich set of accessible and really useful technologies, designed to increase the safety and comfort on board. Thanks to the Nissan Safety Shield, the Japanese compact provides a real safety shield that optimizes the protection of passengers and pedestrians. Indeed, this acronym includes various systems, such as emergency braking, assistance during the maneuvering of parking with the detection of moving objects (Moving Object Detection), a signal once one has exceeded the limits of involuntary lane (Lane Departure Warning), and the detection of vehicles in the blind spots (Blind Spot Warning).

The interesting aspect is that while this is very sophisticated technology it is also easy to use and helps the driver exploit the potential of the vehicle safely. In addition, Pulsar also mounts the infotainment system NissanConnect of second generation, with a number of innovative features such as full integration with smartphones, with access to many useful and informative apps. Finally, there is also the use of LED headlights, which were introduced for the first time in the range of Nissan Qashqai and X-Trail, that produce a crisp and white light, consuming 50% less energy than the traditional bulbs.

Engines: all supercharged
The engines under the hood of the Pulsar are all turbocharged to achieve an ideal combination of performance and efficiency. The 1.2-liter DIG-T gasoline engine develops 115 horsepower, while the 1.5 dCi develops 110 hp and 260 Nm of torque. In addition, at the beginning of 2015, the range will be completed by the arrival of a turbocharged 1.6-liter petrol with 190 hp, that will be even more powerful. Besides the manual transmission, the compact model is offered with the Nissan Xtronic automatic transmission that favors smooth power delivery at low revs.
